What are you lookin’ at?
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from South Plains Road in The Plains after it was reported a man was looking into car windows.
The deputies were on the way to the scene when the caller reached out again and told units to cancel as the man was a construction worker. The units then resumed patrol.
Not very neighborly
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Old Coach Road in Athens after reports of a verbal dispute among neighbors had turned physical.
Deputies spoke to all parties upon arrival to get a sense of what happened. At the time the report was posted by the Sheriff’s Office, the case was still under investigation.

Here to help
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency medical service call from The Plains to assist in entering a home where the resident had fallen.
The fall triggered an emergency medical alarm. Deputies were able to enter the home, and the victim received treatment.
Storage unit sleeper
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to Pine Street in The Plains after receiving a report of a man sleeping in a storage unit.
The deputies were able to make contact with the man and determined he was renting a unit through the business.

Stolen license plate?
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were contacted regarding a stolen license plate.
The caller wanted to document the incident, but did not want to speak with a deputy.
Get well soon
The Athens County EMS requested help from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office on a call from state Route 691 in Nelsonville.
The patient initially refused to go to the hospital, but ultimately decided to go and receive treatment.
Saturday, July 12
Get out of the kitchen!
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a third party stating there was someone inside a residence on state Route 13 in Athens.
The third party told deputies she got a call from the juvenile at the house, who claimed she heard noises in the kitchen.
Deputies were on the way to the scene when the third party called and told deputies they did not have to go to the house, as the noise in the kitchen was coming from a bird.
Well-being check
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a well-being check in Coolville.
Once deputies met the individual, it was determined there were grounds for a mental health evaluation, and the individual was taken to the hospital with no incident.
Sunday, July 13
Safe at home
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Virginia Lane in Athens in regards to an elderly male with dementia wandering away from his house in the middle of the night.
He was found unharmed at his neighbor's house and was safely taken back to his own residence to be with his caretaker.
Turn that down!
Deputies responded to a call from Penn Street in Glouster regarding a loud music complaint.
Once on the scene, deputies discovered two intoxicated males passed out in a running vehicle with the music loud. The driver was arrested for OVI and resisting arrest and was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. The driver was also placed on a hold by the Adult Parole Authority.
The passenger was allowed to leave the scene.
Monday, July 14
Warrants of the week
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office has posted warrants of arrest for Kyheem Polley and Damian Dunkle.
Polley is wanted for burglary, and Dunkle is wanted for the illegal conveyance of drugs. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is to contact the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
Um, that’s my car
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Braun Street in Glouster in regards to a potentially abandoned vehicle.
Once on the scene, it was determined the car was parked in front of its owner's residence, and no further action was necessary.
Tuesday, July 15
Oops, wrong number
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call from Cannanville Road in Athens regarding a 911 hang-up call.
At the scene, upon making no contact with anyone, deputies determined there was no emergency and resumed patrol.
Don’t talk to me like that
Deputies were dispatched to Clarks Chapel Road in Athens to help AEP with a client who was making threats to employees.
Once on the scene, deputies learned the client was irritated because his electricity had been out for 12 hours.
Deputies were told the client told the workers he would get his firearm if they did not get out of his driveway. Deputies escorted the workers away from the scene, and a report was taken.
