Police blotter: Arrests, alleged vandalism, courtesy drives

Friday, December 19

Not exactly the plan, but hey

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Lightfritz Ridge Road in New Marshfield regarding a well-being check. 

On the scene, the individual was determined to be alright. However, a woman on the scene had warrants out for her arrest, so she was taken without incident.

Vandalism!

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hill Avenue after receiving a report of property being moved on a porch. 

It was determined nothing was stolen, but the caller was advised to install cameras. 

Saturday, December 20

Sound the alarm

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies patrolled Rhoric Road after receiving a call about an alarm going off, but deputies did not find where the alarm was coming from. 

Theft complaint

Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Broadwell Street in Stewart regarding a theft complaint. 

Deputies were able to make contact with the caller, and a report was taken. 

Sunday, December 21

Stay safe out there

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Meadowbrook Road in Albany after receiving a harassment complaint. 

A woman told deputies she went on a few dates with a man from another county, and he was now stalking her. Deputies searched around the area but did not notice signs of anyone lurking. 

The woman also told deputies she had photographs of the man on her property, but deputies did not see a person in the images. The alleged man was not located. 

I’m not suspicious, I’m a contractor

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Ladd Ridge Road after receiving a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. 

On the scene, it was determined the “suspicious vehicle” belonged to an AEP contractor doing pole surveys. Deputies resumed patrol.  

Monday, December 22 

Stressful situation

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Marathon in Chauncey after receiving a report of a man in distress. 

On the scene, deputies confirmed the man was left by his girlfriend and did not have a way to return to Muskingum County. 

Deputies drove the man to the Perry County line, where he was met by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office deputies, who drove him to the Muskingum line. 

Warrants of the week

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office has warrants of arrest out for Robert Fogg and Kayla Wallace. 

Wallace is wanted for theft and receiving stolen property. 

Fogg is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either individual is to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately. 

Tuesday, December 23

Cat fight

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Barrows Road in Athens after a 911 hang-up call with no sound. 

On the scene, deputies determined there was a verbal dispute over cats. The involved parties separated, and patrol was resumed. 

Investigation

Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were asked to aid the Logan Police Department in contacting two women involved in an open investigation. 

Deputies responded to Frum Road in Athens but did not make contact with either woman. 

Wednesday, December 24

Bad dog! Or maybe not?

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Glouster after reports of two vicious dogs in the area. 

On the scene, deputies were able to locate the dogs, who were not vicious and just wanted to be pet. Deputies were able to get cheese from an individual who lived nearby and corralled the dogs into the cruiser. 

The dogs were taken to the Athens County Dog Shelter with no problems. 

Thursday, December 25 - Merry Christmas!

Thief!!

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Pepper Lane in The Plains after reports of a man looking into windows and stealing bicycles. 

While patrolling the area, deputies located a man who matched the description riding a bike and holding another in his left hand. Deputies tried to catch him but were unsuccessful. 

They were, however, able to retrieve one of the stolen bikes, which will be kept in storage until the owner is notified. 

Not a suspicious car

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to storage units on Elm Rock Road in Nelsonville regarding a suspicious vehicle. 

On the scene, deputies located the car and made contact with the individual, and it was determined they were allowed on the property.
