Check before you vote: Ohio district changes now in effect

As early voting continues after starting April 7, Ohio voters may notice changes to their congressional district this election following new district maps approved in October.

The map, passed by the Ohio Redistricting Commission, will be in effect until 2032, when districts are expected to be redrawn again after the 2030 Census, according to the Ohio Senate.

The updated map shifts district boundaries across the state, meaning some voters may now be in a different district and have different candidates on their ballot than in previous elections, even if they have not moved.

Differences between the previous and current district maps can be viewed on Ballotpedia.

However, some online “find your representative” tools still show outdated district information. To find accurate, up-to-date information, voters should check their sample ballot or contact their local board of elections.

With early voting underway, voters need to confirm their district and ballot information before heading to the polls.
