After starting the season by winning one of their first seven games, Alexander used a 6-4 conference record to propel them to just one game under .500 for the regular season. Alexander won a tense game 38-30 against rival Athens.
Both teams were not in rhythm for most of the game, Athens more so then Alexander. DeVon Sharp looked flustered and took most of his shots on the run, none of them falling.
Josh Skinner was also held scoreless for the Bulldogs.
Dean Maffin led the team on senior night with 14 points and Orhan Mentese contributed eight of his own. Athens’ scored only six points in the first and third quarter.
Michael Chapman and Jack Hart both had double-doubles in leading their team to victory.
Athens falls to 5-5 in the conference and 8-12 overall. Coach Jeff Skinner would not address the media after his team’s loss.
