Ohio defeated Canton, State University of New York 3-0 Saturday morning to advance to the second round of the American Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament.

The Bobcats scored a goal in each period to claim the 3-0 win. John Pietramala started the scoring for Ohio with a goal assisted by Billy Hemann and Jay Mazzarella.

Ohio goaltender Blake MacNicol made 9 saves in the first period.

A Canton penalty in late in period number two led to an Ohio power play goal scored by Jake Holzemer. Michael Schultz had the assist.

The Kangaroos were limited to only two shots in the period, and headed to the locker room trailing 2-0.

With five minutes left in game, Nick Rostek added a goal to make it 3-0 Ohio. The score would stand that way.

MacNicol was forced to make only 16 saves in the win. Ohio moves on to face the winner of the Oakland vs. Minot State game which is currently in progress.

*Update - 1:15 p.m. - Oakland defeats Minot State 3-2 in overtime. The Bobcats and Grizzlies will face off Sunday at 10 a.m.
