John Groce put to rest for the time being any rumors that he would move on to another coaching position this offseason.
Since Georgia Tech hired former Dayton coach Brad Gregory earlier this wek, Groce's name has permeated across message boards as a top candidate to replace Gregory.
In his end of the year news conference Wednesday, Groce said he has not been targetted by Dayton or any other school as of yet.
"No one has contacted me at this time," he said. "...the guy who I trust with that stuff, attorney — no. Neither one of us.
"I think we did some good things to finish. We certainly haven't arrived yet...I'm excited about where we're going and that's where my focus is at this point."
Groce also reflected about Geno Ford, the former Kent State coach who was hired by Bradley earlier this week. Ford played for the Bobcats from 1993-1997 and is fifth on the school's all-time scoring list.
"I'm happy for Geno," Groce said. "Obviously he's a Bobcat alum and Bobcat great...I have a lot of respect for what he did during the three years I coached against him. I thought he did a great job coaching his team...I wish him nothing but the best. I'm sure he'll do a great job."
