For one day, Donte Foster beat LeBron James.

With milliseconds left in the first quarter against Midwest City, Foster's Guthrie Blue Jays tried a desperation inbounds play. The ball came toward Foster, who instinctively tipped the ball over his head because of lack of time.

“I just tipped it up and hoped for the best,” Foster said. “When I turned around, I saw the referee waving his hands that it was good.”

Somehow, the last-second tip from the 3-point line went in. It didn't have a huge impact on the game, but did have an impact in the viral video world.

By the time Foster woke up the next morning, his play had reached Bristol, Conn., and ESPN Headquarters. His tip-in was selected to be No. 1 play on SportsCenter’s Top Ten plays, which is known as one of the most popular segments on ESPN’s flagship show.

“It was surprising because LeBron had the number two play,” Foster said. “I didn’t think anybody like me would be ever to top him on stuff like that.”

Foster said he didn’t expect anything to come from the shot, but his friends texted him and let him know it was on SportsCenter

“They were all like, ‘Oh, so you’re big enough to be on Top Ten now’,” Foster said. “I flipped it on and there I was.”
