Student-Athlete of the Week: Garrett Black, baseball
Black garnered Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week honors this week. He batted .500 (6-for-12) with a home run and five RBIs in four Ohio games last week.
Ohio won three of the four, including taking two of three games from Bowling Green — the Bobcats' first series win of the MAC season.
For the season, Black is hitting a team-high .329 with one home run and 11 RBIs
Honorable Mentions: Annie Beecham, track & field
Beecham won the 5,000-meter run Saturday at the Jessie Owens Classic on the campus of Ohio State University. Her time of 16 minutes, 42.41 seconds was her best time this season.
Lauren Gellerman, softball
Gellerman went 2-for-2 against Eastern Michigan in Ohio's 3-1 rain-shortened win Saturday. She had 2 RBIs, including what turned out to be a game-winning single in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Saturday was Gellerman's first game back after missing a month with a knee injury
