Senior Ryan Burgett was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week by the MAC office Monday.

After starter Matt Robin allowed three runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of work against Buffalo yesterday, Burgett closed the game out, allowing only one run on three hits in Ohio's 6-4 win.

Burgett also pitched the last three innings of the Bobcats' 5-4, 13-inning win against Youngstown State on Wednesday.

"That's great," coach Joe Carbone said when told of the news. "That makes me feel very good, because he's a great young man, and he's worked very hard for the four years he's been there.

"He's been pitching very well. That's why we've been giving him the ball more. In Sunday's game he was outstanding for us. Buffalo had four guys that could really swing the bat and he pretty much shut them down when he came in. He did a great job for us. That's a great thing for Ryan to get that award for the week."
