Seth Streich and Ethan Newton have been named MAC East pitcher and player of the week respectively after Ohio's series win over Miami this past weekend.

Streich threw his second-consecutive complete game on Friday and limited the RedHawks to only one run on seven hits in Ohio 3-2 win. Streich recorded eight strikeouts in the win.

In three games against Miami, Newton went 10-15 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Newton was the offense's catalyst all weekend and drove in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning in Sunday's win.

In his first year of Division I baseball, Newton finished with a team-high .330 batting average, 44 runs, 74 hits, and 20 stolen bases.

Newton was also named second-team All-MAC today by the league. Newton led all MAC players with 44 hits during conference play and was second with a .396 league batting average.
