Ohio (21-21, 10-8 Mid American Conference) was not able to hold onto a lead they held the entire game as they fell to Bowling Green (10- 32, 4-15 MAC)in the seventh inning today.

Alexis Joseph led the Bobcats off in the first inning with a single up the middle with Paige Kemezis following with a pop out to first base. Emily Wethington hit a double to left center and Joseph advanced to third, yet Ohio was not able to score with Chelsea Hortman and Sara Clark both striking out to end the inning. The Falcons were not able to capitalize on anything in the first, leaving one on base.

The Bobcats and Falcons both fell in order in the second inning, none scoring.

Jillian Van Wagen started off the third by reaching base on an error by the Falcons, and Joseph fouled out. Kemezis singled to left field, advancing Van Wagen. Then Wethington singled to left field, bringing Van Wagen in for scoring. Hortman and Clark both fouled out to end the inning, but the Bobcats led 1-0.

Raven King started the fourth inning with a strike out, but Alex Basquez quickly redeemed the Bobcats with a double to left field. With a pinch runner in for Basquez, Morgart flied out to center field. With Van Wagen hitting a single to the pitcher, it looked like the Bobcats would score again with pinch runner Biz Eyrise in scoring position. But Joseph lined out before the Bobcats had a chance to score.

The Bobcats managed to hold onto their lead in the fourth despite a single and a walk for the Falcons. Ohio fell in order in the fifth inning and kept the Falcons to no points.

Clark started the sixth inning off with a walk; pinch runner Tessa Bailey took over for Clark at first. King sacrifice bunted to advance Bailey to second. However, Basquez followed with a strikeout and pinch hitter Lauren Gellerman struck out as well.  The Bobcats held the Falcons once again to keep the score at 1-0.

The seventh inning started off promisingly for the Bobcats as Joseph walked after Van Wagen popped out. Next, Kemezis fouled out but Wethington singled up the middle. Bonner came in to pinch hit for Hortman, and she ended the inning with a pop out to right field.

The Falcons were quick to respond though, coming from behind with a single that eventually led to a tie, and then a homer by first baseman Paige Berger to bring the final score to 4-1.
