The Bobcats got off to a solid start with a single by Alexis Joseph to lead off the top of the first inning, but she was forced out at second when Paige Kemezis reached base on a fielder’s choice. Kemezis was then called out on a fielder’s choice as well when Ohio pitcher Melissa Bonner was at bat. With Bonner at bat, she stole second as Emily Wethington singled to center field, while Bonner scored. But Wethington was called out at second. The Bobcats left the first inning with a score of 1-0.

The Falcons were quick to return from the Bobcats fast lead as left fielder Rachel Proehl scored after initially being hit by a pitch by Ohio pitcher Melissa Bonner.

Both sides fell in order in the second inning, keeping the score tied at 1-1.

But the Bobcats were able to take the lead once again in the third inning. Brooke Morgart reached first on an error by Falcon’s shortstop Hannah Fulk. A single by King was not enough to take the lead for the Bobcats in the sixth inning as they fell once again, but responded with keeping the Falcons from scoring as well.

The Bobcats really took off at the top of the seventh. Van Wagen reached base by an error with Joseph advancing her with a single to the pitcher. After Kemezis grounded out, Chelsea Hortman came in next to pinch hit for Bonner. She singled up the middle to score VanWagen and Joseph. The Bobcats took the final lead 4-2.
