Michelle Jantsch recently signed to play over in Europe. She is going to play for Toulon, a team that competes in France's National 1 League.
She joins fellow Bobcats Ellen Herman and Megan Simons both of which made the decision to play overseas.
Coach Ryan Theis said that it did not take much to convince Jantsch when he suggested the idea.
"Most players when you suggest that they should go to Europe and they are good enough, they are interested in going," Theis said. "(It’s a) neat experience to be able to live overseas and if you have no ties or commitments, (why not go.)"
Theis said that most teams will set up a 10-day trial to see if players like playing in that atmosphere.
“It’s not for everybody, she’ll have no American teammates and they will have their lives set up,” Theis said. “It is not a group of 10 best friends.”
Theis added that Jantsch would adjust to the new atmosphere just fine.
“She’ll be great-- she would go with or without volleyball,” Theis said. “ She is fortunate to play in one of the places that she wanted to.”
Michelle Jantsch could not be reached for comment.
