The 2011 recruiting class for Ohio volleyball added another member yesterday. Kelsey Nobilio will be joining the team this fall as a libero.

She comes to Ohio after three years of being the starting libero for her high school and playing club volleyball with fellow Bobcat recruit Kelly Lamberti.

Coach Ryan Theis said that Nobilio could make an impact right away.

"She is not raw talent, she is not one of those players that needs two years to develop," Theis said.

Right now there are 4 defensive specialists (liberos) on the roster, three of which will play. Theis said he won't know who is going to be in those three spots but that Nobilio will have the chance to make one of them.

Nobilio is not the first one in her family to be recruited by Theis, he recruited both of her older sisters during previous coaching stops.

It was Theis' familiarity with the family that ultimately won Nobilio over.

"(I have a) good rapport with the family, she is familiar with me and a fellow commit (Lamberti)," Theis said. "It was a great fit for her to experience college in a college town."
