Bobcats looking to continue their football careers in the NFL recently discovered what 2011 would hold for them as teams finalized their rosters with Week One on the horizon.

Former Ohio defensive lineman Landon Cohen signed with Seattle, where he’ll be a third-string defensive end. The Seahawks are Cohen’s fourth team in the NFL. He first broke into the league with the Detroit Lions in 2008.

The news wasn’t as good for Ohio alumni Terrence McCrae and Stafford Gatling. The wide receiver and linebacker were cut by the Steelers and Jets, respectively.

Wide receiver Steven Goulet also was cut by the Oakland Raiders.

Taylor Price is still listed as a receiver on New England’s active roster, and the Jets decided to keep cornerback Julian Posey on as a member of the practice squad.

The first game of the NFL season is tomorrow night and will feature the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers, the last two teams to win the Super Bowl.
