Ohio place kicker Matt Weller has been recognized for his contribution to Saturday's win against Gardner-Webb.
The Mid-American Conference named Weller the Special Teams Player of the Week for the East Division Tuesday. Weller made three field goals on four attempts and converted on all three point-after tries.
Weller made kicks of 45, 31 and 24 yards. His 53-yard attempt was long enough but sailed left of the goalpost.
Weller needs only four more field goals to become the top place kicker in program history.
This is the second consecutive week that a Bobcat has earned the special teams honor for the MAC East. Punt and kick returner Travis Carrie took home the award for his performance against New Mexico State Sept. 3.
