Marcellis Williamson continues to be remembered in and around Athens in many ways.
Williamson died April 27 of a blood clot in his lung. Immediately afterward, the Marcellis Williamson Memorial Fund was set up to help defray funeral expenses. A banner with his number, 62, was hanged from the top of Peden Stadium.
This fall, memorial efforts continue.
College Book Store has partnered with Ohio Athletics and BobcatAttack.com to sell T-shirts in honor of the former Ohio nose guard. The shirts have the number 62 on the front and back and read "Forever Relentless." The shirts range in price from $14 to $16, depending on size.
A fourth of all proceeds from the shirt sales will go to the memorial fund.
A different Ohio player will wear Williamson's number in each game this season. Every team member's helmet is adorned with a decal honoring "
Six-Deuce."
