University of Akron Men's head coach Caleb Porter was recently named head coach of the U-23 United States Men's National team that will compete in next summers Olympics. Olympic qualifying begins next year and if the USMNT qualifies it will only be allowed to put on the roster three overage players, as the Olympics requires the rest of the roster to be at the age of 23 or under.
Porter coached the Zips to their first national championship in 2010 and will continue as coach while serving as head coach of the Olympic team.
