Athens is home to the best college football team in the state, according to the CBSSports.com's Top 120, which ranks the Bobcats as the 31st-best collegiate team in the nation.

Ohio, who sits at 4-1 overall (1-0 in the Mid-American Conference), is sandwiched between San Diego State and Oregon, who competed for a national championship last season.

The Bobcats sit ahead of national powers such as Arkansas, Michigan State, TCU and USC. They also rank higher than in-state teams Cincinnati (44th) and Ohio State (60th.)

Rutgers is the only team on Ohio's schedule that is rated more favorably (29th.)

Fellow MAC teams Western Michigan and Ball State are included in the top 60, while Ohio's week six opponent, Buffalo, sits at 109th.

The CBSSports.com Top 120 ranking is non-scientific and is based on CBSSports.com analyst Jerry Palm's personal mathematic computer formula.
