Another Ohio field hockey player has been recognized for her on-field contributions in a critical win last weekend.

Laura Mastro was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her role in the Bobcats' championship-clinching win against Ball State on Sunday.

Mastro sored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Bobcats a 2-1 victory against the Cardinals. That goal secured an outright regular-season championship for her team.

Defensively, Mastro was a part of a unit that allowed only one goal through two games on the weekend. Goalie Jen McGill only faced two shots on target against Ball State.

Mastro has 14 assists this year, which is second in Ohio's single-season record book.
