Each week, the Mid-American Conference honors the top players at every unit. Matt Weller represented the Bobcats this week. Here is the news from elsewhere in the conference.
East Division
Offensive POTW – Buffalo QB Chazz Anderson
Anderson’s four-touchdown performance brought the Bulls to the brink of an upset against Northern Illinois. He went 35-for-53 with 406 yards, the most passing yards for Buffalo since they entered the MAC in 1999. On top of his impressive passing performance, Anderson added 56 yards on the ground for Buffalo.
Defensive POTW – Bowling Green DT Chris Jones
Jones was an integral part of the Falcons’ defense that held the Temple Owls to 284 yards of total offense. He made four solo tackles along with two assists. Jones had no trouble disrupting the Owls’ backfield as he had three sacks and one quarterback hurry.

West Division
Offensive POTW – Eastern Michigan RB Javonti Greene
Greene made an impact with his hands and his legs in the Eagles 14-10 victory against Western Michigan. The sophomore opened the scoring with a 50-yard reception, marking his first career touchdown catch. Later in the fourth quarter, he shot up the middle of the field for a 50-yard go-ahead touchdown. Greene finished the day with only 61 rushing yards, though his two-touchdown performance was enough to give the Eagles the win.
Defensive POTW – Toledo DB Desmond Marrow
Morrow put on an impressive show for Rocket alumni who came back for the homecoming game against Miami. The senior from Youngstown, Ohio led Toledo with six tackles and grabbed two interceptions in the game against the RedHawks.
Special Teams POTW – Ball State KR Jamill Smith
Smith played a huge part in the Cardinals’ seventeen-point comeback victory against Central Michigan. He returned four kicks for 135 yards, averaging 33.8 yards per return. Aside from his special team achievements, Smith hauled in the game-winning touchdown.
