It is the last week of the regular season, and the playoffs are fast approaching. Nelsonville-York (9-0) and Athens (9-0) are in. Alexander (6-3) is out. Trimble's (6-3) fate has yet to be determined.

Nelsonville-York currently sits at third in Division V, Region 19, as one of three teams in the region to clinch a playoff spot. If the Buckeyes beat Athens on Friday, they will clinch a home game and will end up as one of the top three seeds.

Athens is ranked fourth in Division III, Region 12, one of six teams that have clinched spots. A win at home against Nelsonville-York Friday could boost the Bulldogs into a top-three spot and at the very least would guarantee a first-round home game.

Alexander, after suffering a 53-0 loss to Nelsonville-York last Friday, has been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs (rankings are computer generated). The Spartans have fallen all the way to 19th out of the 29 teams in Division V, Region 19 after three straight losses.

In Division VI, Region 23, only two teams have clinched playoff spots. Trimble is ranked 10th and must crack the top eight to earn a playoff berth. If the Tomcats are to have any hope for the playoffs, they must beat Federal Hocking at home Friday.
