Nelsonville-York (9-0) at Athens (9-0):

De'Von Sharp is the best player on the field, but the Buckeyes have better balance. Look for Nelsonville-York to set up the pass with tough running from Dustin Young. DeVon Sharp has a field day but doesn't put enough points on the board to beat Nelsonville-York. Nelsonville-York 35 at Athens 28 — Paul Meara

De'Von Sharp is a very good player but he's not the best running back in the area. That would be Dustin Young, the Buckeyes' bruiser. Nelsonville-York also has the area's top quarterback in Nathan Dean, the area's top receiver in Daniel Kline and the area's top defense. In other words the Buckeyes are (soon to be) perfect. Nelsonville-York 38, Athens 21 — Mark Travis

Athens will cash in on a 2-point conversion to win, "The Longest Yard" style. Athens 35, Nelsonville-York 34 — Jim Ryan

Alexander (6-3) at Meigs (6-3):

Two teams with the same record. Similar success and also similar losses. Alexander is the better team. Look for Trey Bennett to go out in style and the Spartans to end their three-game losing streak. Alexander 28, Meigs 14 — Paul Meara

You have to imagine that Coach Arno will have his team playing hard for pride's sake after they took themselves out of the playoff picture. Alexander 41, Meigs 10 — Mark Travis

Alexander finishes the season on a high note — sort of. Spartans give up a pair of long-ball touchdowns to keep the game interesting. Alexander 21, Meigs 14 —Jim Ryan

Trimble (6-3) at Federal Hocking (4-5):

Trimble is good. Fed Hock is not good. No further analysis needed. Trimble 44, Federal Hocking 6 — Paul Meara

Spencer Keith and the Tomcats will finish the year strong. Trimble 32, Fed Hock 7 —Mark Travis

The Tomcats run away with this must-win, running the table to return to the postseason. Trimble 40, Federal Hocking 14 — Jim Ryan
