With one game left in the regular season, and even the post season on the line for the Bobcats, each game can be the last for the 10 senior Bobcats. For senior Laura Dieter, the reality of not going to practice everyday is starting to set in.

“I have been thinking about it a lot, everyday for the last 17 years I have had practice everyday and it was something to always look forward too, I relieve myself with practice and it’s going to be really weird when it’s all done,” Dieter said. “That’s why I’m going to try and play my best the next two weeks.”

Once soccer is over, Dieter will begin the process of looking for a job and enjoying the last few months in Athens. The biggest thing will be finding what to fill with the void that will soon be in her life without soccer, one thing she is sure of though is it won't be in coaching.

“I don’t see myself going into coaching, a lot of people have asked me that but I just feel that I’m better as a player,” Dieter said. “I’m quieter on the team and so I don’t think I would be the best at coaching.”

For her role on the team off the field, she has seen building relationships with the players as central to help translate the chemistry onto the field.

“People always tell me one of my traits is my hard work, every time I go out there, I haven’t always started and I have probably sat more than I started and when I get out there I try to pick up the energy for everyone,” Dieter said. “I’m quick with speed and when the team is playing down I like to come in and give them some energy when I’m out there.”
