For the second straight season, the Trimble High School football team has made it to postseason play. Last year, the Tomcats lost three out of their first four before turning things around and winning out. Similarly, Trimble fell in its first two games this season. After seven straight wins (and a forfeit loss,) the Tomcats will prepare for yet another week.
If last season is any indication, Trimble has a lot of work to do heading into next Friday's game, which will be on the road. A year ago, the Tomcats were stopped cold by Shadyside, falling 36-20. However, the Tigers were the eventual state runner-up.
All indications are that the Tomcats will be playing Symmes Valley, Joeeitel.com's Region 23's number one seed, next Friday on the road.
The Vikings sit at 9-1 on the year and have not lost since the third week of the season, when their offense sputtered to only three points.
Offensive production is normally not Symmes Valley's fatal flaw, though. In five of their ten games this season, the Vikings have put up 40 or more points.
Trimble, on the other hand, has reached the mark four times, eclipsing 50 in three of those outings.
The Tomcats wiggled themselves into the eighth spot by beating Federal Hocking 36-0 Friday night in Stewart.
