The Mid-American Conference cross country championships highlight this week's Athletes of the Week.
Male Athlete of the Week: Tyler Ames, Junior, cross country
Ames paced the Bobcats with a 10th-place individual finish in the MAC Championships in Muncie, Ind. He ran the 8-kilometer course in 24:48 to lead Ohio. He earned All-MAC Second Team honors. Ames' time was more than a minute faster than his best time last year. The Bobcats finished fifth in the team standings.
Female Athlete of the Week: Juli Accurso, Sophomore, cross country
No one in the field was better than Accurso in the women's MAC Championships Saturday. Accurso won the 6-kilometer was by finishing in 20:35.3, a full 13 seconds ahead of any other runner. She was named first team All-MAC after the meet. Ohio placed fourth in the MAC Championships as a team.
