While Major League Baseball's postseason produces October legends, former Ohio baseball players made headlines for what they did in the summer.

Jerod Yakubik won this year's Pioneer League batting title as a member of the Orem Owlz, the Rookie League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

He hit .372 with one home run and 36 runs batted in.

Relief pitcher Adam Russell spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays. He threw 32-2/3 innings while posting one win and a 3.03 earned run average.

Marc Krauss played the entire season with the Mobile Baybears, the Double-A affiliate of the National League West Division champion Arizona Diamondbacks.

He hit 16 home runs and 65 runs batted in with a .242 batting average.

Robert Maddox III and Gauntlett Eldemire will continue their seasons by playing in the Instructional League.
