Ohio punter Paul Hershey was named Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Hershey punted five times for an average of 41 yards per punt in Ohio's 43-28 win over Central Michigan on Thursday.

His long was 51. He also helped the Bobcats control the field position battle by dropping four punts inside the 20-yard line, including one that rolled out at the 1-yard line.

That punt led to two points for the Bobcats as Alphonso Lewis tackled Central Michigan's Zurlon Tipton in the end zone for a safety.
