After compiling just a pair of victories in his two years at the helm of the University of Akron football team, Rob Ianello will not return for the 2012 season. This morning, he was informed by Akron director of athletics Tom Wistrcill that the university will look elsewhere to fill the coaching position, effective immediately.
Ianello, who has experience at Alabama, Arizona, Notre Dame and Wisconsin in addition to Akron, won only a single Mid-American Conference game during his tenure with the Zips.
Ohio outscored the Zips 75 to 30 in a pair of wins during Ianello's career in Akron.
