After finishing well in last weekend’s Hokie Open at Virginia Tech, the Ohio wrestling team looks to face more tough competition at the Michigan State Open on Saturday morning.

The MSU Open will feature schools such as Michigan, Northen Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Northwestern, Indiana and many more schools in the Great Lakes region as 250 wrestlers are expected to compete in the open division matches.

Bobcat coach Joel Greenlee was not pleased after his team’s performance at the Hokie Open and is hoping for improvements not only mentally, but also on the mats.

Greenlee believed his players were going through the motions and were not prepared to compete at the level other schools competed at.

Heavyweight wrestlers Jeremy Johnson and Andy Hartshorn led the team last week placing second and third in the 285-pound weight class and are expected to fare well once again against their opponents at Michigan State.

Other Bobcat wrestlers who are expected to compete for medals in their respective weight classes are Miles Chapman (165-pound) and Michael Duckworth (174-pound).

The MSU Open —which is the last meet in November that Ohio will compete in — will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning in East Lansing, Mich.
