A story published by USA Today indicates that some coaches throughout college football will make more than their predecessors.

Terry Bowden, who assumes the coaching role at Akron will make $375,000 in base salary. That amount is equal to what former coach Rob Ianello made last season.

For other programs, the change is more drastic. Ohio State's former head coach Luke Fickell made almost $1.2 million in base salary. Urban Meyer will make $4 million.

USA Today also broke down each coach's pay per win. Fickell made $195,333 per win last season.

Ohio head coach Frank Solich made $52,928 per win during the regular season, making him one of the more efficient coaches in the Mid-American Conference.

Northern Illinois head coach Dave Doeren is the most efficient, receiving $37,100 per win.

The most efficient coach in the nation was Arkansas State's then-head coach Hugh Freeze. Freeze has since been hired to replace Houston Nutt at Ole Miss. Nutt had the least efficient pay per win last season.
