Ohio place kicker Matt Weller has been recognized for his classroom performance in addition to his on-field success this season.
Weller was named to the 2011 Football Academic All-Mid-American Conference team on Friday. He was the only Bobcat on the 35-member team, but seven others earned honorable mention.
Weller is an engineering major with a 3.21 grade-point average. through Fall Quarter, during which he set numerous school kicking records.
JD Bales, Nathan Carpenter, Brad Fain, Jeff King, Josh Kristoff, Derek Roback and Jordan Thompson earned Academic All-MAC honorable mention status.
