Ohio lost two of three games in its season-opening series at UNC-Wilmington last weekend. 

The Bobcats trailed by two runs heading into the top half of the ninth inning in game one of the series on Friday, but plated two runs with two outs to extend the game to a 10th inning.

Ohio took the lead in the top half of the 10th, but UNC-Wilmington responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the walk-off win.

Junior Seth Streich pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs. Junior Tyler Backstrom was saddled with the loss despite not allowing an earned run.  

No Bobcat recorded more than one hit at the plate.  

Ohio rebounded in the second game of the series and earned a 6-4 win. 

Senior Brent Choban pitched six innings, allowing eight hits and two earned runs. 

Streich and Jenson Painter delivered at the plate for the Bobcats as the pair combined for four hits, three runs and five RBI.

Ohio's offense struggled in the rubber match of the series as the Bobcats lost 5-2. 

Jason Moulton pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed zero runs while striking out four. But Ohio's offense failed to put any runs on the board until the seventh inning.

Marck Paliotto took the loss as the junior reliever allowed two earned runs while recording only one out.
