With a win against Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals Friday night, Ohio punched its ticket to the championship game, but also kept pace with some elite company.

Coupled with 10 wins by the Ohio football team earlier this season, Ohio basketball's 26th win brings the combined total to 36 wins, which ranks second of any Football Bowl Subdivision school in the country.

The Bobcats are just one win behind Southern Mississippi, Baylor and Missouri, who each have 37 combined wins during the 2011-12 school year.

Syracuse, Kentucky and Michigan State each also have 36 combined win.

Four other teams — North Carolina, BYU, Michigan and Wisconsin — have 35 combined wins.

Southern Mississippi lost to Marshall in the semifinals of the Conference-USA Tournament on Friday while Baylor will play Missouri for the Big 12 title on Saturday.

Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan State and Missouri will all attempt to improve upon their combined total during tournament games on Saturday.

Ohio's football team won 10 games including a win against Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
