Less than a week after leading Ohio to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 48 years, coach John Groce is rumored to be a target for the vacant Illinois head coaching job.
Amid the rumors, Bobcat fans are reaching out in order to retain their coach.
"Likes" are beginning to pile up on a "John Groce, Please Don't Go," Facebook page.
A petition titled "Stay at Ohio University: We Want Coach John Groce to Remain a Bobcat!" has also surfaced.
The petition claims that it will be forwarded to Ohio Athletics.
Groce led the Bobcats to a school-record 29 wins and an appearance in the Sweet 16.
The team will return 100 percent of its minutes next season.
