Ohio men's basketball has announced the addition of junior college transfer Travis Wilkins. He will attend classes during summer quarter.
Wilkins is transfering from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah after decommitting from Southern Illinois.
He was selected to the Scenic West Athletic Conference first team, averaging 17.2 points.
After graduating high school, Wilkins two took years off to complete a Mormon mission. He will be considered a junior in terms of NCAA eligibility.
Ohio coach Jim Christian said he is happy with the addition to the team.
"We are excited to add Travis to the Ohio Men's Basketball family,"Christian said in a departmental statement. "I think it's important to add the right type of person to the culture we have in place here at Ohio. I am impressed with Travis' maturity and commitment to both athletics and academics. He is someone that will fit in well with our current blend of student-athletes."
