Ohio first baseman Raven King was named the Mid-American Conference Eastern Division’s Player of the Week on Tuesday.

King has been on fire at the plate. In the last six games, King has gone 10-for-19 at the plate with five home runs and 14 runs batted in. With her five home runs in the stretch, she is now the all-time single-season home run leader (11) at Ohio.

Led by her outstanding performances from the plate, the Bobcats had a strong week, going 4-2 against Dayton, Central Michigan and Western Michigan.

In back-to-back games with Dayton and Central Michigan, King hit two home runs in each game, as well as driving in 12 runners. The extraordinary power she displayed in the six games put her slugging percentage for the week at 1.368, one of the best ever recorded in a week in program history.

While King recorded a hit in each of the six games at the plate, she also played perfect defense by committing no errors and registering 35 putouts.

The Bobcats will next compete on Wednesday at Wright State with a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. The games will be the final road contests for Ohio during the regular season.
