Ohio will begin its final tournament of the year at the Dayton Fall Invitational Monday on the NCR Country Club North Course.

The Bobcats finished 11th out of 15 teams at the Preview at Longaberger last week, where they scored a total of 652. Freshman Angela Codian carded Ohio’s lowest score (159) and was tied for 20th in the field.

"I wasn't too happy with my performance at the Preview last week but I think I have a big chance to win this tournament, the teams aren't as strong as they used to be and I really enjoy the court there, so I am really excited for (the tournament,)" Codian said.

Putting is one of the Bobcats’ areas of emphasis heading into the weekend.

“Putting has been a main focus for practice because it was our biggest problem at the Preview last week, and I hope they’ll do better tomorrow,” said Ohio coach Kelly Ovington.

Kristen Helmsdoerfer, a junior, said the Bobcats have confidence going into the weekend, but need to stay grounded and focus on fundamentals.

"We think we can win this tournament, and the challenge would be not to get ahead of ourselves thinking too much about winning," she said.
