After leading Ohio to four wins in the East Carolina University Pirate Classic, senior catcher Lauren Gellerman was names the Mid-American Conference East player of the week Tuesday.
On the weekend, Gellerman hit .533, including three home runs and a paid of triples, which were each team-highs. She also did not strike out in any of her 15 plays appearances.
Although she is the MAC's first recipient of the award this season, Gellerman also earned the honors twice in 2012.
The Bobcats (4-1) will be back in action this weekend at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic in Las Vegas, where Ohio will take on a pair of nationally ranked opponents in No. 9 Oregon and No. 18 UCLA.
