For the second time this season, freshman pitcher Savannah Jo Dorsey has earned Mid-American Conference honors, as she was named the East Division pitcher of the week Tuesday.

Against Toledo and Bowling Green this past weekend, Dorsey pitched in both of Ohio’s winning performances. She pitched 10 2/3 innings spanned across three games, but did not allow a walk or run, while striking out 13 batters during her time in the circle.

Friday, Dorsey (9-5) picked up the win during a complete-game, three-hit shutout against Toledo. She then followed up that performance with a pair of relief appearances against the Falcons Saturday and Sunday, earning a save in the first game against Bowling Green.

The freshman leads the Bobcats in wins and strikeouts this season, despite sophomore pitcher Lauren McClary having pitched more innings.

Ohio (19-14) is set to host Ohio State for a doubleheader Tuesday evening, with the first game beginning at 5 p.m.
