Bottom: With two outs, the Broncos scored on a base hit to center field, then load the bases with the very next hitter. On the next pitch Rudnicki delivered a wild pitch, which scored WMU's Brandon Cable from third. Rudnicki got Ohio out of the inning with a strikeout with the bases loaded.

Top: White reached first on a base hit to second base. Then on the next play, Emody grounded into a fielder's choice, where White was thrown out at second. Bredeson hit a base hit to left on the next pitch, moving Emody to second. With two outs, Longo was intentionally walked, loading the bases. Black struck out next, ending the inning with the bases loaded.

Bottom: Rudnicki hit the first WMU batter, who was then advanced to second with a sacrifice bunt. A liner down the third base line by Brett Sunde scored Kurt Hoekstra from second. The inning was ended by a groundout after that.

Sixth Inning: Ohio 0, Western Michigan 3

Top: A Madsen base hit on the first pitch put him on first. An error by the second baseman put Ohio runners at first and second base. Immediately following, Adryan was picked off at first. White was then walked, putting a runner back on first. A wild pitch advanced the runners to second and third. Emody was then hit by a pitch, loading the bases. Bredeson grounded out on the next pitch.

Bottom: Grant Miller led WMU off with a triple to right field. The next batter grounded to third in a fielder's choice, where Adryan threw to home. Miller scored and WMU put a runner on second. Cable stole second and was then moved to third on a base hit by the next batter. Jordan Tillman was then hit by a Rudnicki pitch inside, loading the bases. The next batter grounded out into a 6-4-3 double play, saving Ohio from any more damage.

Top: Madsen opened the inning with a base hit to right, followed by a double to left by Adryan — runners moved to second and third. T. Wells grounded out, but Madsen scored on the play from third. Another ground out for Ohio with three outs followed. RHP Gabe Berman replaced starter Chad Mayle for the Broncos with two outs in the eighth. Emody opened Berman's time on the mound with a double to center, scoring Adryan from second. A passed ball moved Emody to third. Bredeson was walked three pitches later. Austin Rieman then poped out to right, ending the inning.
