Who’s ready for some football?!

With the 2014 NFL season coming up, the MLB gets put on the back burner for a while — and it’s never felt so good.

This year’s NFL fantasy drafts can be tricky, as there are only a handful of running backs worth choosing in the first round.

The following is, in my opinion, who you should grab and avoid.

Who you should get

I’ll reiterate my statement from above: there’s very few running backs to choose from. As running backs are slowly becoming unreliable in today’s NFL, quarterbacks will be critical.

1. LeSean McCoy, running back for the Philadelphia Eagles

2. Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers

3. Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Denver Broncos

4. Adrian Peterson, running back for the Minnesota Vikings

5. Drew Brees, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints

6. Matt Forte, running back for the Chicago Bears

7. Calvin Johnson, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions

8. Eddie Lacy, running back for the Green Bay Packers

9. Jamaal Charles, running back for the Kansas City Chiefs

10. Tom Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots

11. Jimmy Graham, tight end for the New Orleans Saints

12. Marshawn Lynch, running back for the Seattle Seahawks

13. Dez Bryant, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys

* Be careful with Peterson, Charles, Graham and Lynch. The wear and tear of Peterson, Lynch and Charles is a major concern, though all are work horses. Peterson is closing in on 30 years old, Lynch showed up to training camp out of shape. Charles has feet issues. Graham has red flags because he played well against incredibly weak defenses last year.

13. Julio Jones, wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons

14. Tony Romo, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys

15. Cam Newton, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers

16. Demaryius Thomas, wide receiver for the Denver Broncos

17. Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Detroit Lions

18. A.J. Green, wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals

19. Alfred Morris, running back for the Washington Redskins

20. Arian Foster, running back for the Houston Texans

21. Antonio Brown, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers

22. Andrew Luck, quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts

23. Brandon Marshall, wide receiver for the Chicago Bears

24. C.J. Spiller, running back for the Buffalo Bills

* Romo is always quietly underrated in fantasy football. Foster and Jones are returning from injury, but I expect the latter to come back fully healthy, while Foster is hit-or-miss. Wideouts are always tough to pick in the first two rounds, but Johnson and Brown are targeted often.

Best of the best (at each position):

Quarterback: Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Brady, Romo

Running back: McCoy, Peterson, Forte, Lacy, Charles

Wide receiver: C. Johnson, Jones, D. Thomas, Green, Marshal

Tight end: Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron, Vernon Davis

Defense: Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Cleveland Browns

Kickers: Stephen Gostkowski, Steven Hauschka, Dan Bailey, Mason Crosby, Justin Tucker
