Taylor Ellis, a sophomore at John Carroll University from Orrville, Ohio, poses for a photo in Wooster, Ohio, at the Secrest Arboretum, a part of Ohio State University's Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, on Dec. 20, 2015.
The photo isn't part of a series, per se, but I'm trying to work on posing models. I thought the easiest way to get started was with one of my closest friends. Taylor and I have known each other for years, and she has such a fun adventurous spirit that I wanted to capture. For this particular photo, I had her sit under a tree with thorns all around her, on the ground, covered in leaves, sticks in her hair — and she was all for it. Even though this picture is serious, it shows how willing she was in our photo shoot.
