African and African-American students

​Tosin Akinola, second year PhD student from Southeastern Nigeria studying education and administration, poses for a portrait outside of Baker on September 13. Akinola came to Ohio University on the Ford Foundation International Scholarship. He says of the divide between Africans and African Americans: “If I take a piece of metal, it is a root of African Americans. If I melt that metal, it is a coin and it has two sides.
