Fifth annual Polar Bear Plunge makes a splash

On a chilly February morning, over 240 people showed up at Lake Snowden in Albany to do the unthinkable: jump in an icy lake that just so happened to measure 32 degrees Fahrenheit, which is the temperature at which water starts to freeze. However, it wasn’t just for nothing, as participants were taking the freezing plunge for a good cause. It was the 5th annual Polar Bear Plunge, a charity event held to raise money for the students of Beacon School. On Saturday November 28, Bobcats went skating in Bird Arena right after the hockey team took on Illinois. OU's campus recreation department opens the rink up after some home games. On the morning of January 21st, 2023, about 100 people gathered to protest Artifacts Gallery for anti-trans signage and business practices. The protest started around 10:30am with a crowd of roughly 30 people, before growing to around 100. Around 11am, the crowd migrated to the front of the Athens courthouse.
