Students upset over tuition hikes have alternatives: Join the military to get a $10,000 enlistment bonus, then if you live or can still walk and think, upon discharge you’ll receive G.I. education benefits that pay tuition. If you re-enlist, you get a $25,000 bonus.
Another alternative is to attend a trade school instead of college. Education in the trades is constant “real world” study, while college is considered “unreal world” time for fun, not work.
Besides, without regular tuition hikes, how would OU’s administrators and faculty get pay raises, and how would the football coach get his “millionaire” base pay plus bonuses, just for teaching ball handling?
By the by, with all of OU’s foreign students, why isn’t there a Judo sports team like we had in 1956–1959? That’s Olympic stuff; football isn’t.
