The Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services granted the Athens County Sheriff's Office $44,590 at the Athens County Commissioners' meeting yesterday.
The funding will aid in the investigation of the county's domestic violence cases and will last through December.
We've been fortunate to get (the grant) every year
at least since I've been here said Mark Sullivan, an Athens County Commissioner.
Also discussed was the possible employment increase of McBee Systems, 1055 E. State St., which currently provides jobs for about 300 people from the county, he said.
McBee Systems is a printing company established in 1906, according to the company Web site (http://www.mcbeesystems.com).
