New cameras will monitor bus behavior

The purchasing of new cameras to monitor activity on school buses and record the buses' speeds was discussed during the Trimble Local School District's regular board meeting last night.

Trimble now owns two cameras for buses. One is already in place, and the other is in the process of being installed, said Superintendent Jack Loudin.

These monitors are a tremendous help in maintaining control on a bus

he said.

Each camera will cost the district about $700, and they plan on purchasing one camera at a time, said board member Fred Cavey.

Board members also set a six-month schedule to review the first draft of board policy. Next month, the board will discuss administrative bylaws, Loudin said.

High School Principal John Abdella said the baseball dugout, which was damaged in a fire, is being rebuilt and will be ready by the start of the season.

A two-hour delay also was announced for Friday because of the large number of students attending the high school girls' regional basketball game at Pickerington North. 17
