Post Letter: Candidate's experience is an obvious advantage

Most OU students spend only four or five years in Athens, and when they elect to vote here, they more often than not have some notable limitations: lack of historical perspective and understanding of the city-county governmental relationships. This makes it all the more important that before they vote on county offices, they spend time researching what and who they are voting for since they can enjoy a major role in deciding who receives the most votes.

Having come to know Randy Mace (recently endorsed by The Post), I have become familiar with what he has done for the county, the city and, indeed, Ohio University during his career in public service in establishing 9-1-1 service plus his contributions to emergency medical service and emergency management since graduating from OU.

I have done the research, and if you are a student voter who has not fully researched these governmental relationships and the backgrounds and qualifications of the current candidates, I urge you to consider joining me in casting your vote for Randy Mace for Athens County commissioner. Or I urge you to do your homework (a good place to start is at RandyMace.com). After you have done the research, I believe you will join me in selecting Randy Mace as county commissioner.

Wil Lloyd is a resident of Athens.
