A 14-month-old child from Nelsonville was reported kidnapped at 1 p.m. yesterday, according to an Athens County Sheriff's Office press release.
Amy M. McNeil, 19, of Hudson, Ohio, allegedly stole the child's parents' 2000 Honda Civic with the child strapped in a backseat car seat.
McNeil allegedly fled from the United Pentecostal Church parking lot in Rolling Hills and headed onto U.S. Route 50, going east in the westbound lane. She crashed into another vehicle, according to the release.
McNeil was treated for minor cuts at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, but the child was unharmed and returned to his parents.
The incident is under investigation. Possible charges against McNeil are kidnapping and grand theft auto, according to the release.
